Brothers Darrell, Wayne & Doug Jagon “the LUCKY one” boated this beauty 30 ¼ lb at Rosa Harbour on May 31, 2020. They also caught a 18lb Spring/King and prematurely released a mid 20lb chinook at the boat. All in all a Great day of Fishing/Catching in Esperanza Inlet.

Salmon continue to be caught through out June in Greater #s & Larger than past few years Catches. Why, Because there are is no commercial fishing for Chinook in Alaska and on the West Coast of Canada above us. The result is More & Bigger Salmon for Local Fishers. Keep in mind that Area 25/125 remains at 2 Chinook per day & 4 possession. When the Coho start arriving it's four per day with 8 posession. Check out details on regs DFO.OpsCentreFishingPacfic. These Fish where all caught just off the mouth of Esperanza inlet at Ferrer Pt and near Grassy Island.
Lindsy our new Westview Marina & Lodge Dock Manager with a captured purple star fish that she put in our famous salt water touching pool! Add your favorite Fish, Crab, eel, sea cucumber or other sea creature to the pool. They all are returned safely to the local waters at the end on each season. Dr Stan Leete with his lovely 1st mate Hellen had a wonderful resent ½ day Saturday fishing at Pin Rocks. These 24lb halibut and a 19lb Chinook put great smiles on these fishers.
Jeff Lieffering (on the left standing) won this fishing trip for his Grand Prize Photo in the Angler Atlas contest. He & his buddies came with 1 bucket list request “to catch a Halibut”. Wow, they did it with a 124cm 70lb thick Brut! This crew will be back next season to do it again! Crew was guided by Westview’s Colton (lower right) on the vessel Donzi.
The road between Gold River & Tahsis is 62k/40m. It is now ½ paved and the gravel parts are in excellent shape because it is graded nearly every day. The BEST part about the road is the scenery and wild life viewing. Elk, waterfalls, deer, snow caped mountains, grouse, lakes and bears and MUCH MORE. Pictured is Momma Bear with her 2 yearling cubs. Westview’s new mechanic Derek just finished de-winterizing this boat and brought it back to the dock after it’s sea trial in the inlet. Derek came to us with years of marine mechanic experience from a large resort in Haida Gwaii area. Westview winterizes and stores 25 to 50 vessel annually.
YES, this is John doing what he loves to do on those cold wet winter days in Baja Mexico. He also likes to do the same thing here in Tahsis when our Albacore Tuna show up in July & August.
These 2 Lingcod are the perfect size for table fair 10- 20lb. There are lots around and it is a common occurrence for ALL to take home their possession limits of 4 per fisher.

Some people are camera shy in the early season. But, in a 4 hour trip dock to dock they produced well. Two book end 15lb Chinook and a 5lber from inner Black Rock.
