2019 Season comes to a close with LOTS of Good NEWS!
*Salmon Enhancement Derby raises all time high - $60,364
*Tahsis River has record returns of Chinook/Kings/Springs - 15,000+
*Western Forest Product helps Tahsis Salmon Enhancement Society Helicopter plant 30,000 Chinook in upper Leiner river canyon
*Conuma Hatchery reaches it's Goal to capture 3.1 million Chinook eggs
*Gold River volunteers capture their egg Goal for Chinook
*Leiner & Tahsis river volunteers capture 320,000 Chinook eggs
Albacore Tuna finally show up in mid/late September
"Yes, the most exciting fishery you can participate in with your cloths on happened"
For 9 consecutive years (2007-2015) we had the closest to shore Tuna Fishing/Catching fishery on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. 2016-2018 the Albacore were over 80-150 miles off shore, too far out to make it practical & safe.
Their back and we are crossing our fingers in hope of having another stretch of years (2020-????) of close in Catching!! We are already planning next year's fishery!

Yes the Tuna finally arrived off the Esperanza Canyon as close as 18 miles off shore. Shock Wave Seats David Smith with Tyler Hunt got 17 Albacore Tuna 15-22lb on Sept 17, 2019

Yes, on September 18, 2019 they did it again. David & Tyler took Ray Chetidden on his 1st Albacore fishing trip ever. What a Great Fun day! 22 Albacore 13-23lbs caught up inside the Brooks Peninsula weather buoy about 18 miles out.

John I just wanted to let you know I have been fishing the east and the west side of Vancouver Island for over 20 years, I have been running my own boat up from La Conner Washington since 2005. It’s been fun exploring the beauty of the island, whether it’s the rugged coast line, secluded inlets, anchorages, marine life or the friendly people it’s a great place. For the last couple years I have left my boat at home and been fishing on one of your 3 days of fishing packages. The pepole are great, the food is great, the lodging great and the fishing is as always off the charts.

Staff- Alicia & Kane went Fishing/Catching with Guide Kyle (taking picture) in late September. They caught these GOOD Halibut on anchor near 4mile Reef Esperanza. Then trolled back & landed 3 NICE Cohn/Silvers of their 6 hookup.
