* Columbia River Fall Springs/Chinook/ Kings - up by 20% over last year
* West Coast Canadian Coho/silvers - Up 150% over last year
* Puget Sound Chinook/Kings/Springs 700,000 returning - up 100,000
* Columbia River hatchery marked Coho/Silvers 900,800 - up by more than 600,000 over 2018
* Washington Coastal Rivers Coho/Silvers 400,000 - up 130,000

(WCVI) in May & June hundreds of large schools of Salmon come off Brooks Peninsula and stop at our door step to rest and feed in the mouth of Esperanza Inlet and surrounding areas.
This is just one of the many reasons why in the early season (May & June) we have some of the BEST Fishing/Catching for Salmon on the WCVI

Randy Evans masterfully fileting four Winter Springs, 2 limits. Caught at Rosa Harbour on May 5th 2019 with Jeff Nish. They filed the fish box with these 6-9lb Spring in less than 3hrs.

That means the “HOT SPOTS” in Nootka - Yuquot Pt. (the Lighthouse area), Wash Rks, Maquinna Rks & Pt, Burdwood, Bajo Reef, Beano Pt and much more are wide OPEN!
“HOT SPOTS In Esperanza - Outer Black Rks, Half tide Rks on the out side of Catala Is, Rosa Harbor, Tatchu Rks & Pt, McQuarrie & Grassy Is, as well as the world famous Ferrer Pt area are wide OPEN.

Yes, Only in ALL of Area 25 Nootka Sound & Esperanza Inlet can you retain 4 Coho per day and 8 possession. Yes it is TURE! We are anticipating a hatcher run of over 15,000+ Coho retuning to here this season. DFO wants these fish caught. They are available to catch in both Esperanza & Nootka. Do you want to help?
Yes, Area 25 Coho Fishing/Catching water also extend out to the one mile off the shoreline line.
Yes, again all the near shore HOT SPOTS above are in play. Retention is 4 Coho per day only two of which can be wild.
Coho Catching - Again Anchovies. In a tight spin for Coho. Also 3-4in Lures like “The Hammer” by Peetz in chartreuse, Coho Killer Double Glow & Coyote Glow/Green Chartreuse are working well.

We are very fortunate in that All Bottom Fish in Areas 25/125 remain in good abundance and

Brent Collins from Fort Nelson with a 42lb. Ling Cod Caught on April 22nd 2019, near Tatcha point. His crew of four limited on Lings and caught some nice Vermilion. The crew will return in early June to load up on Salmon (Chinook and Coho).
