BEST KEPT SECRET ON THE WEST COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND

Hello {tag:firstname},

Esperanza/Nootka Spots Fishing Advisory Committeeheld at Westview Marina & Lodge Oct.-28-17

High Lights –

*Generally, the 2017 was one of the BEST Fishing/Catching season in 10yrs.

for Salmon, Halibut and Ling Cod.

* ALL Local Rivers have reach or exceeded their targets for escapement

of Chinooks/Springs/Kings for spawning

*Because of the extensive Chinook Catch data gathering here in our

area over the past few seasons, the preliminary results indicate a high

degree of likelihood that the limit areas that have in the past been

close to Salmon retention on July 15 may remain open. Stay tuned!

*All Volunteer Hatcheries & the Federal Conuma Hatchery have reached or

exceeded their egg counts targets. With the exception of the Gold River.

*The above means over 4 million salmon fry will be released to local water

in the spring of 2018

ALL GOOD NEWS!!!

A man was stopped by a game warden in Northern Saskatchewan recently with two buckets of fish leaving a lake well known for its fishing. The game warden asked the man, “Do you have a license to catch those fish?” The man replied, “No, sir. These are my pet fish.” “Pet fish?!” the warden said. “Yes, sir. Every night I take these fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home.” “That’s a bunch of hooey! Fish can’t do that!” The man looked at the game warden for a moment, and then said, “Here, I’ll show you. It really works.” “O.K. I’ve GOT to see this!” the game warden replied. The man poured the fish into the water and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, “Well?” “Well, what?” the man asked. “When are you going to call them back?” the game warden prompted. “Call who back?” the man asked.“The FISH.” “What fish?” the man asked.
