The Largest Returns of Chinook in recent History!

Yes, the Tahsis Salmon Enhancement Society (TSES) efforts are being rewarded!

The largest Chinook/King/Spring return since it’s volunteer hatchery reopening in 2002 arrived recently.

TSES Volunteers netted and gathered brood stock In the Tahsis River this past Friday September 15th.

The goal of the society is to raise 150,000 Chinook fry for the Tahsis River annually.

This is the first time in the past 15 years that the run has been large enough to support the Goal.

TSES also raises an additional 150,000 Chinook in the Leiner River that is also located in Tahsis BC.

Because of Volunteer efforts the Village of Tahsis enjoys the reputation of being one of the

         “BEST PLACES to FISH for Salmon on Vancouver Island, BC”

TSES slogan “It’s ALL about the FISH”

 is legendary” in the fishing world.

                                                              

Frank Collins President and Spokes Person for TSES thanks all the many volunteers involved and Especially The core group of Bill Dwulit, Don Beamen, Richard Illes, and Mogens Madsen all of whom have been working as a well-oiled team since 2002. He also THANKS the new younger hatchery Volunteers! Frank also thanks Westview Marina & Lodge for their fundraising efforts over the past 13 years. Westview’s efforts represent 90+% of TSES annual budget.
