FISHING REPORT
May has always been kind of an in between month, between GREAT prawning in April, before the commercial prawners get here in the 2nd week of May, and June when the fishing really starts heating up. BUT, not this May! The halibut & lingcod fishing have been over the top GOOD! Early salmon fishing was much better than recent years both inside & outside waters produced lots of fish. Inside Esperanza - Low Rock, The Pins and the eastern shore of Centre Is. were all hot for winter Springs. In Nootka - Wash Rocks, Burdwood, Boston Pt. and the northwest side of Strange Is. just before going through Princesa Channel on the Kendrick side there is a pair of humps that hold lots bait & winter spring. Outside is crazy good for migrating Chinook already when the weather permits. Any where on the Highway is working especially at the “T”. Ferrer Pt. & at the red can on outer Bajo Reef are already producing Chinook up to 25lbs.
It would appear that the projections for HUGE Salmon runs to & off the West Coast of Vancouver Island are accurate!!

Nice talking with you this evening.
Just to set the stage Westview is different than where you have gone before in many ways. Our Boats are all Coast Guard & Dept. of Transportation certified & so are our boat operators. Also on tuna trips we have 2 crew aboard one to run the boat and one to run the gear.
Albacore tuna fishing is fast & thrilling. It’s nothing like salmon fishing. Most fishing is right on the surface trolling at 8kn(10mph). Tuna Rods & reels are similar to high end Hali. gear with 100lb braided line & 100lb fluoro-carbon leader. When Tuna Hookup the boat is moving at 10mph & the Tuna is moving a 30mph+ in another direction the line screams off the reel & most of the time there are DOUBLES!!

Details: 2 nights Premium Lodging (dates), All meals are off our restaurant menu- Dinner on your arrival, Three meals on (fishing date) & breakfast on the day of departure. The price is $725 per person taxes included (TI).
We Have a Special on a combo Package if you book a Tuna trip you can add an extra day of salmon fishing for your party of 4 which again will include meals & lodging for $475per person TI. Combo Package can be fished any time in 2014 season BUT, must be booked by June 15th.

The Booking for Albacore Tuna Charters have gone CRAZY!!
That’s a GOOD THING. As presented in our last newsletter: with the El Nino predictions in mid-July off West Coast Vancouver Island assures us that the TUNA will be here this summer.
TUNA Charter Sharing: we have two trips looking to partner with other people to fill Tuna Fishing / Catching Charters.
- 1st is Sunday August 31st charter TUNA fishing/catching Albacore Tuna – looking for two persons on an all-inclusive trip. Lodging on August Saturday 30th & Snuday 31st (separate bed rooms), all meals starting with your arrival dinner on 8/30 at the Marina Grillhouse Restaurant, three meals on your fish day 8/31 & breakfast on your departure at our Island Attitude Coffee Café on 9/1 Monday – $725 per person
- 2nd is Saturday September 6th charter Tuna fishing /catching Albacore Tuna - looking for one person to share charter on Saturday 9/06 & on Friday 9/05 & Saturday 9/06 lodging (separate bed rooms) - $632.50 per person. Lunch provided on fishing day. Other meals available at Marina Grillhouse Restaurant or Island Attitude Coffee Café.
- All prices are taxes in Let us know ASAP on these TUNA Charter.

Yes they are all on line now. NOT TO WORRY!!! Westview Marina has been chosen to be an “Independent Access Provider” We Have ALL the types of Saltwater Licences & Stamps available here at the Marina as in past years. All we need is your photo ID (drivers licence, passport, etc.), your phone number & of course payment to get you legally out there FISHING. “SERVICE IS OUR GUARANTEE”
