FISHING REPORT – LATE MARCH / EARLY APRIL WESTVIEW MARINA & LODGE
Esperanza Inlet- Winter Springs / Kings - Chinook Action (catching) is very GOOD & 2 to 3 weeks earlier than normal. We had solid reports & fish on our cleaning tables Up to 22lb. Average Chinook are 15lb. We have a verified report of a 28lb fish caught at Steamer Pt. Other Hot Spots have been McBride Bay & CeePeeCee. As the weather continues to improve there will be more people out & we a sure may more winter spring/kings will be caught. 90ft deep seems to be the sweet spot, green flasher, anchovy in a green header or a green hootchie with a glitter skirt, 4 in glow/green Coyote are also working. Nootka Sound- Depths & tackle all the same. Hot Spots that are producing – Burdwood, McKay Passage near Saavedra Is. & outer Marvinas Bay PRAWNING & OYSTER GATHERING are strong secondary activities & they are producing excellent results. Very tasty!!! Tyee Chinook ( over 30lbs. ) are also expected to show earlier this year. We should see the 1st of these fish in early June.
