BEST KEPT SECRET ON THE WEST COAST OF VANCOUVER ISLAND

   Hello {tag:firstname},

February 2018 “All GOOD News & 2018 Outlook”

On a very personal note: Cathy is WINNING. Most of you know that we have been dealing with her Cancer treatment since May of 2017. Talk about turning our lives upside down while we wrapped our arms around the issue and each other. Thanks to so many of you, our friends/customers, for your kind thoughts, advice, support and prayers. With weekly Naturopath and Chemo treatments the doctors have put her on the right side of the bell curve. She has gained back the 20lbs she lost. Her blood work is GREAT. Her attitude -is over the top GOOD! As most of you know she is one tuff/strong Women!

She also looks Great with her newly grown locks of hair. You will see lots more of her out and about this season.

Thanks again for ALL your support! John

2008 Fishing Report:

Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod Outlook - ALL GOOD!

SALMON Projection from all sources are looking to above the five year average return for both Chinook/Kings/Springs and Coho/Silvers for Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet. Yes all the Salmon Enhancement along with ongoing habitat rehabilitation and protection are yielding larger run returns.

HALIBUT- the biomass continues to increase. This will produce above average size and quantities of Hali catches in outer Esperanza & Nootka.

LING COD - these tasty fish remain in the abundant category. Find a rock pile or a sharp drop off and you will find lots of LING for your fish box.

ROCK FISH - these long lived fish remain very plentiful off the majority ofour local coastline. A descender device is highly recommended when fishing for ROCK FISH to safely return them to the bottom when released THANK YOU!!

NOTE - If you need GPS locations for Ling or Hali, stop by Westview Marina’s Tackle Shop we will help you out with identifying local HOT SPOTS!!!

OUR MOTO IS

“Happy Fishers are the ones Catching FISH” We want you to be HAPPY!

Let me tell you friends that one simple spelling mistake -- even a typo -- can make your life hell. I recently emailed a short, romantic note to my wife while I was away on a Fishing/Catching trip at Westview Marina & Lodge, and I missed one small "e". No problem you might say.  Not so. This tiny error has caused me to seek Police protection to enter my own house.

I wrote, "Hi darling,  I'm enjoying and experiencing the best time of my whole life, and I wish you were her!”

If you have a fishing Joke that you would like to summit to be published in our newletter please send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.   Thank You!
