Halloween and Year End

Happy Halloween and Happy end of a Great 2012 Season!

Happy Halloween and Happy End of a Great 2012 Season!

Yes it is time to put everything to rest for the winter. Less than 10 boats are still in the water, a far cry from the 150 boats at the peak of the season. The parking lot is nearly void of vehicles, it has been taken over by nearly 50 shrink wrapped and winterized boats to await their spring unveiling.

Highlights!

Fishing May through August was excellent for all species of salmon, halibut, and lingcod. The September drought caused some unusual fishing activity, the fishing was good but not in the normal places.

Special Events!

- 3rd annual Barbecue Cookout Contest – July 7th*

- 20th Anniversary of the Marina with David GoGo – July 20th

Friday Nights all Season Long

“Steak Night” and “Rock the Dock”

That kind of tells it all. A tender New York steak cooked to your liking served with your choice of 3 kinds of salad, a twice baked potato, and dessert. Add to that some of the best musicians on Vancouver Island and what you get is a large patio full of happy people.

Oh yes, the large tented area with several patio heaters and lap blankets also make for a warm and cozy crowed on those early and late season Friday Nights.

Eco Tours

A huge hit this year, Grey Whales, Orcas, and Humpbacks were everywhere along with sea lions, bears, sea otters, bald eagles, river otters, and deer.
