It is that time of year again and we at Westview Marina and in fact the whole Village of Tahsis are extremely excited about this years SALMON ENHANCEMENT FISHING DERBY. Last year with everyone’s generous help we raised $6,243.54 for our local salmon enhancement projects.. This year our target is to raise $10,000.00.
This year the Salmon Enhancement volunteers raised and are releasing over 120,000 chinook. The target for release in the spring / summer 2008 is 250,000 to one half million Chinook fry release.
The Salmon Enhancement Society will be hosting a Salmon BBQ on Saturday afternoon and the local Lions Club will be hosting the bar at the Saturday night awards ceremony and dance. These events will be held at the Tahsis Recreation Center Ph: (250) 934-6443

Yes the Bobbers will be back playing on the dock Friday night and for the dance on Saturday after the awards – I am sure that they will play our signature song – 'GET YOUR ASSES TO TAHSIS' – more than once. Check out the Bobbers website.
